Brooklyn Based » 10 Qs for Julie Powell
Also, just because they have artistic / creative side projects and aspirations does not mean they slack on the real estate side of things. Victoria was particularly friendly and professional, and I never winced at the word "fee" because everyone had their sh*t together.
I would absolutely use them again.
Also, cool to know one of those guys runs King Killer Studios - I've been practicing at Flood for over a year, but it's not great.
This "sponsored post" just seemed so out of place for Brooklyn Based. It was such a blatant puff piece. I hope that BB made lots of money on it, because I'm afraid they also sold their credibility.
We appreciate your concerns about our editorial policies.
The sponsored post did emphasize all of the great things about Realty Collective--that is the point of a sponsored post (also called a dedicated email, or in print, an advertorial). We clearly state that this is a sponsored post so that our readers will know it is an advertisement, and we in turn trust that our readers understand that ads are necessary to create Brooklyn Based.
There is nothing factually incorrect about the above post; it is just something we wouldn't necessarily run as an editorial (e.g., unpaid) piece. We do, however, use our editorial discretion to select advertisers that we think will interest our readers. In the case of Realty Collective, we decided that their business practices--hiring creative types and being community builders--were well worth advertising.
